NEW “INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS AND BUSINESS SERVICES” DIRECTOR FOR THE SOPEXA GROUP

On 11 May 2010, Sopexa welcomed Martine Foulloy, its new International Exhibitions and Business Services Director.
As part of the Global Markets Department, reporting to Charles Collard, Martine Foulloy will primarily be responsible for the business development of the International Exhibitions department previously undertaken by Sophie Thomas. She will also be responsible for deploying new services to private sector companies, marketing a full range of services that meets all needs of French businesses wishing to increase their export sales - from personalized consulting on the choice of top-priority markets to the setup of promotional activities to sales drives at international exhibitions.
“Sopexa’s ‘International Exhibitions’ activity has been growing steadily for several years (+4% in 2009, + 15% in 2008), bringing together 1,634 exhibitors at over 20,000 sq. m. of display areas at French Pavilions in 2009… A great performance that illustrates how dynamic French businesses are in their international development, despite the difficult economic context,” stated Cécile Bassot, Sopexa’s Managing Director. “We have successfully tailored our product ranges in order to support companies in driving their export sales. Martine Foulloy’s experience and knowledge of the agribusiness market will help us go even further in assisting companies.”
After training at the International Trade and Distribution Institute in Paris, Martine Foulloy started her career as a product manager at CGEI, Grand Union’s European purchasing branch, where she developed a range of fine grocery products and fresh foods (cheeses, fruits and vegetables) for the North American market.
She later joined France Europe Investissement as a Project Manager in order to set up a chain of restaurants in the United States.
After three years as a project manager at AGRAL Consultants, Martine Foulloy joined Food From Britain France in 1996 as Director of Consulting and Promotional Activities. There, her main role involved developing a range of services targeted to English businesses on the French market. She was later appointed Director of The European Sandwich and Snack Show, where, for ten years, until 2009, she managed the creation and development of this exhibition, which has today become Europe’s leading trade show dedicated to the sandwich and snack sector.
