SOPEXA SIGNS PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AGRIBUSINESS CHAPTER OF THE FEDERATION OF INDIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY


- In order to promote, improve and develop trade relations and investments in the food and beverage business communities in India and France, Sopexa - which has had an office in India since 2000 - has signed a partnership agreement with the Confederation of Indian Food Trade and Industry (CIFTI-FICCI).

This agreement, signed on 21 October at the SIAL exhibition, institutes a cooperation process aiming to create favourable working relationships for both parties.

In addition to maintaining close, continuous working relationships between the two parties, the terms of the agreement provide for:
regular exchange of technical and marketing information and publications
cooperation to encourage overall understanding of the markets and creation of business opportunities in India and France, to help companies in both countries
regular meetings to assist one another, promote the activities of both parties and work together on subjects of common interest in the agribusiness sector


The CIFTI-FICCI, a branch of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, was founded in 1985 to provide specific services to the high-growth-potential agribusiness industry in the broad sense. The FICCI, created in 1927, has a membership of around 2,000 firms from various sectors and more than 500 regional Chambers, associations and organisations that directly and indirectly represent over 250,000 companies.
The CIFTI-FICCI’s missions cover a very wide range of activities in the food and beverage trade. The CIFTI-FICCI acts not only as a platform for interaction between the Indian government and industry, but also provides market information to agribusiness firms and companies in related sectors. Finally, it also gives institutional support to the agribusiness trade, the restaurant and catering sector and food and beverage companies.
